There are many fun and memorable ways to document your special day which
can be used in conjunction with traditional
wedding
photography.
By using the following ideas you can save money by hiring your photographer
only for your ceremony and/or candid shots.
Substitute your traditional guest book for a photobooth. Photobooths
can be rented from many distributors and are delivered directly
to your venue. After your guests have had a great time having their
pictures taken they can sign the pictures and drop them into your
guest box. They can later be assembled into the most unforgettable
guest book. Most photo booths also provide a CD or website of images
after the event. Some photo booths also offer the option of having
the images emailed and/or picture messaged instantly to mobile
devices.
Some new digital cameras have a feature which takes pictures at
set time intervals (every 30 sec, 60 sec, etc). Consider setting
one up pointing at something fun like your dance floor. Then you
can include an image of each of your guests dancing in their thank
you cards.
Disposable cameras are also a fun option to provide for your guests.
You can get some fantastic pictures this way from your guests perspectives.
Disposable cameras work best in the daylight. If your event will
be after dusk be sure to buy cameras with flashes. Keep in mind
that even with flashes the cameras will only pick up people who
are up close. Disposable cameras can be customized for your wedding
and start around $2.00 each.
Use social media sites to collect pictures taken by your guests
on their own digital cameras. You can also set up image accounts
on services such as Flicker or MyMobile where people can upload
their images. You can always incentify people to upload their images
by offering awards or prizes for the best dance moves, kiss,
romantic picture, etc.
